The Kennel

Kennel designs and methods of operations are not only direct reflections of my purpose, they are my individual and personalized ideas. A construction or management technique that is successful for one's facility might result in disaster for another. All I know that the keys are that any kennel must be warm during cold season, cool during summer, clean, dry, comfortable, safe and secure always.

The beagle is a merry little hound, with boundless energy and has the most enthusiasm for life. He requires an ideal quality of your time from the time you purchase the puppy unto his adolescent days until he reaches maturity. Space is an important consideration. When a puppy may well be in the corner of your kitchen, but after a few months he would have to require a bigger space for his activities. Beagles are pack animals and therefore he lives to be a part of your pack, and not apart.

Whelping is done at home. With the strictest sense of sanitation in the area for whelping, the mother is well taken cared of till all puppies come of age to puppy hood. Mother and puppies are placed in a whelping box with enough enclosed space for the mother to relax and go back into the box. Puppies are all at home till they reach the age of about four to five months old, which by that time they have completed their vaccination shots and off they go to Baguio for conditioning, playing and running around freely with a pack of the merry little hounds.

This is the time when we discipline and condition our dogs while they play to their hearts delight. Baguio City is about 230 kilometers from Manila and takes about four to five hour drive to the City of Pines. It's the summer capital of the Philippines and climate there is from high of 25 degrees and low of 9 degrees Celcius.

Batangas City

This is our farm. Retired bitches or dogs from showing, still have fun to run in packs in the farm. It's about 3 hectares of land area. There is an enclosed area where we groom our dogs, and a long running pen in pebbles going out to a larger grassy area which they enjoy teasing and playing with the other dogs in the field.
